Welcome
Your companion to finding purpose
This app walks alongside the three-part Clarity video series by Living Foundations. Each part has a guide to watch and a set of questions you answer in your own words. What you write is saved on this device and never sent anywhere.
How to use this
Watch the video in the Guide tab first, then move to the Questions tab and answer honestly. Your answers save as you type, so you can stop and come back to them.
At the end of each part, press "Copy to clipboard". Your answers are copied along with a prompt that asks for a reflection on them — paste the lot into ChatGPT, Claude or any AI you use.
"Analyse my answers" will do that inside the app. It isn't switched on yet.
The journey ahead
Three parts, in order, under "Find your purpose" in the menu. The bonuses are there whenever you want them.
Not sure where to start
Two shortcuts for when the three parts feel like too much right now.

Part 1
Your Ikigai
▸The video and the explanation are here in Guide. The questions you answer are in Questions — tap it when you're ready to write.
Ikigai is a Japanese concept meaning "reason for being." A popular framework breaks your life purpose into four overlapping circles — and where they all meet is your Ikigai.
What you love
Activities where time disappears. Pure joy — nothing to do with how skilled you are.
What you're good at
Natural strengths or built skills. People notice. You feel genuinely confident here.
What the world needs
Problems that bother you deeply. Gaps you see that others seem to ignore.
What you can be paid for
Skills with real market value — now or with time invested.
Your goal is to find the one thing sitting at the centre of all four. These questions are a one-time deep exercise — they take 45 minutes to 2 hours. Do them with full focus.
Part 2
Surfacing your real values
▸The video and the explanation are here in Guide. The questions you answer are in Questions — tap it when you're ready to write.
Life purpose isn't assigned to you from the outside. It's built from your values — the things you actually spend time, money, and energy on without anyone pushing you. Not what you say matters, but what you do.
What a value really is
A value is something you do automatically — no motivation needed. Watch your actual behaviour, not your stated beliefs. If you say you value money but never save — money isn't truly high on your value scale yet.
The 5 clarity questions — your daily practice
These 5 questions take 25 minutes total (5 minutes each). Do them every day without looking at yesterday's answers. After 2 weeks, the repeating patterns are your true values.
The final step of question 5: ask yourself — "What is one practical thing I can do TODAY?" Write it down. Then go do it.
Part 3
Turning clarity into action
▸The video and the explanation are here in Guide. The questions you answer are in Questions — tap it when you're ready to write.
Your mission comes from two sources: natural interests you've always had, and voids — painful gaps from your past that drive you to fill them for others. Most people's life purpose lives in one of these two places.
Your 4 life areas
Set goals in all four for a complete picture of your life.
Mental wellbeing & stress
Social & professional circles
Professional service & skills
Passive income & investments
The goal breakdown system
Take your 1-year goal and reverse-engineer it all the way down to today. Each level gets smaller and more concrete.
Every Sunday, review your week. Too easy — push harder next week. Too hard — dial it back. You're training your ability to estimate your own capacity. That self-knowledge is itself a superpower.

Shadow work
▸The video and the explanation are here in Guide. The questions you answer are in Questions — tap it when you're ready to write.
The part of you you've been hiding from
In psychology, the "shadow" describes the parts of your personality that your conscious mind doesn't recognise or accept — the side of you that stays hidden, even from yourself. Not because you're bad, but because life taught you to push these parts away. Ignored, they quietly run the show from behind the scenes. Faced, they become your greatest source of wholeness.
Why do shadow work?
Your blind spots run your life whether you look at them or not. The gambler who can't see his addiction. The anger you can't explain. Shadow work is shining a light on what's been running in the dark. You can't improve what you can't see.
Three ways to find your shadow
Meditation
Sit quietly and observe your patterns and reactions without judgment. Notice what feelings arise around certain people, memories, or situations.
Ask people who know you deeply
Go to 3–5 close friends or family. Ask: "What 3–5 things about me do you feel hold me back?" Where their answers sting or surprise you — that's your shadow.
Shadow journaling
Answer specific questions fully and honestly. These questions act as a torch — shining light on the parts of your mind you've kept in the dark. The more honest you are, the more you'll find.

How to journal
▸This is the guide. Templates and Clarity Genie hold the prompts you write from — tap either one.
Journaling is downloading your thoughts onto paper — turning the noise in your head into written form so you can actually see it, revisit it, and work with it. Done right, it's the most powerful tool you have for clarity.
Journaling vs diary writing
These are not the same thing, and the difference matters.
Stream of consciousness. "Today I woke up at 8, had a fight with X, didn't get my promotion." No direction. Pure download.
Question-driven. Intentional. You ask your mind something specific and let it answer. It has direction and purpose.
Think of it as your best friend
Journaling is like having a best friend who always has time for you, never judges, asks great questions, and has unlimited patience. The difference from a real friend? Your journal:
The real superpower: better questions
The quality of your journal is determined entirely by the quality of questions you ask. Ask small questions, get small answers. Ask big, honest questions and your mind opens up.
"If I only had one year left to live — how would I spend it? What would I stop doing? What would I finally start?"
This single question dissolves petty worries and instantly clarifies what actually matters to you.
Morning vs evening journaling
Both are valuable — but they serve different purposes.
Practical notes
The most successful, clear-minded people journal consistently — not because they have more interesting lives, but because they process their lives more intentionally. Journaling is how a wild, scattered mind learns to run in a direction.

Breathwork
Pick a pattern, set how long you'd like to practise, and follow the circle. Inhale as it expands, hold while it's still, exhale as it contracts. No account, no tracking — just your breath.

Clarity Genie
Feeling something? Start here.
Pick what you're feeling right now. The Genie gives you a short set of questions built for exactly that state — answer them honestly, then copy everything into your favourite AI (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for a personal reflection. Nothing is sent anywhere; your answers stay on your device.
Prefer it offline? Download Clarity Lite
The same mood-to-questions flow as a standalone app — fully offline, no AI, nothing leaves your device. Pick a mood, answer, copy it all out.
Relationship Genie
Do you actually understand each other?
A conversation for two, not a test. Fifty questions across thirteen chapters, had out loud with your partner over several evenings — money, children, conflict, family, intimacy, the things most couples never quite get around to. Best done early: before moving in, before getting engaged, before marrying.
What you need: the two of you, an hour, and a notebook each. Nothing is typed in here and nothing is saved — you write your own answer down before you say it out loud, so what you say is what you actually think rather than a version shaped by what you just heard. There is no score and nothing leaves your device.
